Anthem, Inc, parent company of Anthem Blue Cross- has reported they have lost 12% of their small group health insurance clients to federal health exchanges. This is approximately 218,000 members. Anthem however has picked up many of those clients back and more by writing individual health insurance in the Obamacare health insurance exchanges. Through early August of 2014, they have reported to have signed up more than $700,000 members in the health insurance exchanges. Anthem is a leading provider of health insurance in California and other states. Anthem writes plans on the individual health insurance exchange through Covered California.
